STEAG GmbH was the central management company of the STEAG Group until the end of 2022. Since the division of the Group into a black coal division and a green growth division, STEAG GmbH has acted as the management holding company.
STEAG Power operates hard-coal-fired power plants at six locations in Germany. Our share of total electricity generation in Germany is around five percent. STEAG Power also operates one large power plant in Turkey. We are sticking to our strategy of phasing out hard coal-fired power generation in the long term.
