STEAG New Energies operates a geothermal heating plant with district heating supply for the city authorities in Unterschleissheim. 70 percent of the heat is generated on the basis of geothermal energy; the remaining demand for heat is covered by a peak load boiler fired by natural gas and light fuel oil, ensuring that heat is available to satisfy demand throughout the year.
