Background: The health promotion programme LIFE at STEAG

The health promotion programme LIFE (Langfristige Individuelle Förderung der Eigenverantwortung - Long-term individual promotion of personal responsibility) developed by TerraSana LIFE AG of Tegernsee and implemented at STEAG is a lifestyle strategy for the preservation of the health, fitness and motivation of employees. Performance, efficiency and motivation are increasingly becoming decisive factors in the competitiveness of businesses. LIFE identifies those lifestyle areas which are relevant to health and aims at ensuring sustainable and long-term employability of healthier staff.

As a central component, LIFE provides the opportunity for employees to obtain expert assistance in almost all the stressful situations of life - in medical, psychological, social, economic and financial and educational issues.

This holistic approach is implemented by the provision of intensive support and advice to the employees taking part in LIFE at all the production facilities and offices of STEAG GmbH. Coordinators working with regional and national networks provide assistance in the fields of check-ups, prevention, therapy, rehabilitation, help in emergencies and crises, financial security and professional development. The sustainability of the system is ensured by measures including intracompany coordination, a newsletter and networking.
