As of today, the Essen-based power generation company is once again trading under the name of STEAG GmbH. All the subsidiaries will also be changing their names in the coming weeks. Following the acquisition of the majority shareholding in STEAG by Stadtwerke-Konsortium Rhein-Ruhr, STEAG has returned to its original name which stood for the company from its foundation in 1937 until 2007.

At 11.30 a.m., the management board headed by Chairman Joachim Rumstadt unveiled the new logo in the presence of the workforce. At the same time, flags with the new logo were hoisted at all the major power plants and at the head offices of STEAG Power Saar and STEAG New Energies in Saarbrücken.
