In addition, via WSG-Wäremezähler-Service GmbH and MID-Cert-Gesellschaft für Zertifizierungen, we provide high quality services for heating supply companies.

STEAG district heating is economical, safe, and sustainable thanks to its energy-efficient generation processes: More than 90 percent of the heat comes from thermal power stations with cogeneration, an environmentally friendly process in which the energy used is simultaneously converted into power and heat.

District heating for North Rhine-Westphalia

• Largest supplier of district heating in North Rhine-Westphalia: Supplying 2.3 billion kilowatt hours of thermal energy each year, equivalent to the heat requirements of over 300,000 households.
• Germany’s first trans-regional district heating line – The Ruhr district heating trunk network has linked the heating networks in Bottrop, Essen and Gelsenkirchen since 1978. We also supply district heating in Bonn-Duisdorf.
• Customers: Our customers include city authorities with their office buildings, schools and swimming baths, public and private hospitals, churches, housing associations and private houseowners.
• Our heating and cogeneration plants supply thermal energy to our own district heating systems and those of other operators, and to industrial buildings.

District heating for the Saarland

• The Saar district heating trunk network: One of the largest regional district heating systems in Germany. With a length of 35 kilometers, it runs from Dillingen to Saarbrücken.
• Around 13,000 customers
• Customers: The major customers are the Ford works in Saarlouis with its adjacent Supplier Park, and the Saarbrücken municipal utility.
