STEAG is already in a leading position in Germany in the generation of electricity and heat from mine gas and biomass. In addition, we are one of the market leaders in the establishment of district heating systems using geothermal energy. Within the STEAG Group, STEAG GmbH is developing major projects, especially in the areas of wind power and solar thermal energy. Our subsidiary STEAG New Energies specializes in distributed generation projects. Our aim is to further expand the share of renewables in STEAG’s generation portfolio. That is why we are making disproportionately large investments in relation to sales in energy from renewable sources.
