Packaged CHP plants use biogas to produce electricity and heat. We plan, construct and operate facilities for production of biogas from the fermentation of renewable raw materials (e.g. corn, grass, other energy crops and slurry) and its use to generate energy.
In the planning of new biogas facilities, STEAG also provides for the use of organic waste from municipal collections – the content of bio-bins. We also address the conditioning of biogas for feed into the natural gas grid.
Cooperative ventures – for example with farmers or local authorities – are important foundation stones for the implementation of biogas projects, and benefit both STEAG and its partners: STEAG contributes its specialist know-how on power generation, and the partner supplies the energy crops, slurry or organic waste.
